Boker Turns 140 Years Old!!

, manufacturer of knives out of the fabled city of blades, Solingen, Germany, has reached another milestone in their history by turning 140 years old.  There aren’t too many companies that can claim that particular accomplishment.  In celebration of this achievement, Boker dispatched a press release about the company’s birthday and about a great new limited edition product they are manufacturing in remembrance of this event.  Here is the information as taken from Boker U.S.A.’s press release earlier today:

Boker Celebrates 140 Years

Lakewood, Colorado (March 3, 2009) – Entering into 140 years of production gives Boker of Solingen, Germany good reason to celebrate.

The Boker facility, located in the “City of Blades,” Solingen, Germany, has come a
long way since the storied chestnut tree was planted, giving birth to the
“Treebrand” logo.

To celebrate this occasion, Boker will produce a series of knives that will blend the
traditional foundations of Boker with the innovative design and materials coming
from the most recent production.

In commemorating the year of inception, 1869, Boker will produce the flagship
“Camp Knife,” limited to 1,869 pieces – serialized and presented in special
anniversary packaging. For every other month in 2009, Boker will produce a
different piece that will be limited to only 140 pieces each, worldwide. A must for
the serious collector!

The Anniversary Edition Camp Knife, model number 111869, is available for
