CompassaDirect from Wenger’s press release:

Latest Wenger Watch Redefines Innovation and Functionality with LED Technology

Orangeburg, NY – June, 2009 — Continuing a storied tradition of breakthrough innovation, Wenger, Maker of the Genuine Swiss Army Knife, has unveiled its Nomad LED Compass Watch, a timepiece with looks as striking and dynamic as it is multifunctional. As the latest addition to the brand’s outstanding line of Swiss-made watches, the Nomad LED Compass Watch features a specialized Swiss movement and a seamless LED digital day, date, time and compass display module. Sporting unparalleled functionality, the Nomad LED Compass Watch is a perfect example of the quality Swiss craftsmanship and innovation for which Wenger is so well known. With an MSRP of $375, the Nomad provides a great value over competitor models selling for at least twice the price.

The Nomad Compass Watch’s PVD-engraved bezel blends perfectly with its 316L surgical steel case, offering rugged durability and an eye-catching look to go along with the integrated LED and traditional analog displays. Luminous numerals provide perfect visibility in any environment, while confidently enhancing the stealthy appeal of the watch. LED watches from other manufacturers often encounter “ghost markings” where the user can clearly see the outline of LED markers that are not lit. The precision engineering of the Nomad LED Compass’s dual displays is such that the LED module is invisible, leaving no trace of the additional display unless it’s markers are illuminated. The Nomad Compass Watch is also equipped with a black silicon strap complimented by a black dial, mineral crystal, and 100m (330 ft.) water-resistance.

Dayhi-resa“This particular model was five or six years in the making because we were so focused on breaking out of box in terms of the watch’s abilities and looks,” said Dennis Piretra, Vice President Marketing,
Wenger NA. “We’re extremely happy with the final result because the Nomad Compass Watch exemplifies the forward-thinking and innovative products that Wenger has always produced. Our intent is for this model to be a precursor to the many exciting introductions that Wenger will unveil in the future.”
The Nomad Digital Compass Watch, as with all Wenger products, is Swiss-made and is designed and crafted to hold true to Wenger’s commitment of excellence. Each watch exhibits multi-functionality just like the iconic Swiss Army Knife and is covered by a 3-year international warranty as proof of Wenger’s dedication to quality manufacturing and craftsmanship. The suggested retail price for the Nomad Digital Compass Watch is $375.
